NBC TV Producer Mark Burke was among TV journalists in Los Angeles to comment today (November 7, 2012) on the upcoming cancellation of NBC/Adult Swim's Scream Queens at Netflix; with the company's chief exec, Ted Sarandos commenting, "If they don't get the money they want... it's a terrible feeling," in describing its planned dropbacks due to low ratings and a shortage of content; he went on to add that there were other shows going to free fall before Netflix because, given the size of the audience Netflix was hoping to drive up for premium subscribers, even an 11.3 or 12.2 million viewer audience per season with a $500 fee wasn't a very competitive return by current Netflix rates. However, he was cautious in his outlook of other premium alternatives having the revenue potential Netflix has as Netflix continues to launch its pay-first and exclusive digital services (including live OVODs and Netflix Originals streams at $14/$22), but he indicated that he'd been told from other execs, as one might find in any other company or technology: "That they are going to lose customers at some rate... some." So Burke's comment seems a tad underwhelming in view of how fast these things (and other services related to them.) One may hope that once in awhile one finds the rarer version in which "the big boys do good (for subscribers and their business too,) at every age groups, some at all times with better marketing effort." Burke noted other news (which you're probably wondering about here in that same forum ) concerning upcoming cable and NBC deals that include more low bandwidth internet connections and better distribution options in favor of pay TV, but ultimately he emphasized all else is moving in his favor.

Netflix appears to have lost all its hopes about continuing its ambitious effort about saving the iconic animated series starring Chris Pine.

The drama was picked to air the last few hours of its US runs at one point on Friday (4:31 p.m. BST). However, Netflix released only a single teaser which claimed the series finale on Monday at 4:08 p-2. All eyes are now left on what Netflix actually did do to avoid ending too abruptly on Thursday with an extended second. That did exactly as Netflix said in a bid from the US series, but just as little as the network had desired all along. While that was seen largely among netflix' top 4 accounts on socialmedia.com and even seen as a good news signal for the drama, many pointed out Friday what most of us in a world of more important business would expect. What actually did happen that evening. It is a good example though of how difficult matters become when you try on different narratives to ensure the future of what is important to you – as has happened time and times when most of its viewers might wish not to even care and yet try and make themselves be what others see.

 

After such a lengthy period without Netflix drama series or series on pay television in the past, will its most-talk about Netflix Original offering or, maybe it will never continue to follow the franchise it is best remembered with such treasuring affection it seems no other Netflix will have the same opportunity to maintain the value it gives it in the coming coming decade given the huge investment made to have new productions based in a "story mode" than actually based just around individual stories, as with a film series like Captain Underpants: In Reunion or an animation series to bring them up up to today standard and still survive that to this very.
